Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and values-driven Account Analyst to support key accounting functions in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This role plays a critical part in month-end close activities, corporate credit card administration, reconciliations, and general accounting operations while working closely with internal stakeholders across the organization.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and reconciliation skills, exceptional organization and attention to detail, effective communication and collaboration across teams, and the ability to manage multiple accounting processes accurately in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs month-end accrual process.  Analyze data for missing accruals against budget/forecasts. Support communication and awareness around the accrual process and deadlines with other Trans Mountain departments.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations; review data to ensure accuracy and reasonability of transactions to the various Trans Mountain entities. Investigate and resolve variances.
  • Administer the corporate card program; monitor compliance, run exception reports and provide analysis to policy, support audits. Provide customer service functions to cardholders.
  • Provide back-up and support for processing bank transactions and bank account reconciliations.
  • Provide back-up for revenue invoicing and collection functions.
  • Participate in special projects, such as new system implementation/enhancements, working directly with IT.
  • Maintain training material and document internal processes ensuring compliance with SOX/internal controls and policies.
  • Respond to audit queries & government information requests. 

 

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or related discipline enrollment in accounting designation would be an asset.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience. 
  • Strong Account reconciliations and analytical skills.
  • Experience with the month end close process of a multi-entity organization.
  • Familiarity with foreign exchange US/CDN.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A committed team player who is willing to pitch in as needed to support team objectives and organizational success.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot issues, and think critically.
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.
