Our 3-Year Engineering Rotation Program at Trans Mountain offers a unique opportunity to gain diverse and comprehensive experience across various engineering disciplines within our company. This program is designed to develop future engineering leaders by providing hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to critical projects that ensure the safe and efficient transportation of energy resources. This position is permanent full-time and based in our Calgary Head Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rotational Assignments: Participate in multiple rotations across different departments such as Pipeline Foundations, Facility Integrity, Field Engineering, and Pipeline Integrity.
- Project Involvement: Contribute to ongoing projects by applying engineering principles and techniques. Assist in the development, testing, and implementation of new products and processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to help solve engineering problems. Participate in team meetings and provide input on project progress.
- Learning and Development: Engage in continuous learning opportunities, including training sessions, workshops, and mentorship. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Reporting: Document and present findings, progress, and results of projects to stakeholders. Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including advanced Excel/spreadsheets.
- Basic knowledge of VB, C++, Python, and database management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in technical writing (technical reports and papers).
- Some work experience through internships, co-op programs, or workforce experience is strongly preferred.
- Some field travel will be required, including a 6-month rotation at one of the Trans Mountain terminal locations in Alberta or BC.

Other Requirements and Information:
- Individual is required to hold a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Individual may be asked to carry a company cell phone and must be willing and able to respond at any time in case of emergencies.
- Occasional travel to various site locations may be required.
