As a Human Resources Co-Op Student (12 months) with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of Human Resources professionals.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, team-orientated individual to be part of the HR team supporting a variety of HR functions. We collaborate with our leaders to continuously identify opportunities to enhance or develop new solutions to ongoing organizational requirements. This opportunity is open to post-secondary students who are currently enrolled in their 3rd year of studies and is enrolled in the Co-op Program.
This position is based in our Calgary office and will report to the Team Lead, HR Business Partnerships.
Duration: January 6, 2025 to December 19, 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the HR team to effectively coordinate and administer HR policies, programs, and procedures ensuring processes are effectively planned, coordinated, and communicated. This may include initiating forms, distributing key information, and conducting research.
- Assisting various centers of expertise such as talent management by assisting the recruitment team with the full cycle recruitment process including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and reference checks.
- Ongoing system administration and data coordination for onboarding and off-boarding of contractors and employees.
- Liaise with the third-party vendor for contractor set up and closeout.
- Participate in HR projects as identified.
- General administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Must be enrolled in a Business Administration or related program, ideally with a focus on Human Resources, with an accredited institution and preferably in the 3rd year of the program.
- Analytical mindset with demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Adaptable to change.
- Approaches challenges with enthusiasm and an eagerness to see the job through.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Organized, able to set priorities and a self-starter that can work in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) products.
The expected pay range for this position is $22.42 to $30.07 CAD per hour
