As the Manager, Solutions Delivery with Trans Mountain, you will have the opportunity to work with an innovative and creative group of industry experts supporting the operation of the Trans Mountain Pipeline System. 

 

Reporting to the Director, Solutions Delivery & Support, this position is responsible for leading the delivery of end-to-end IT solutions that align with business strategies and meet operational requirements. This role oversees project management, solution architecture, development, and deployment to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of technology solutions. This position will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to manage the solution delivery lifecycle – from requirement gathering through development, testing, deployment, and transition to support.

 

This role will be located at our Calgary Head office and an office-based position. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of IT solutions across multiple projects and business units, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and translate business needs into effective technical implementations. Oversee the full solution lifecycle—from planning through deployment—while ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Manage cross-functional teams comprising internal resources and external vendors, fostering strong partnerships with business and IT stakeholders. Apply industry best practices across Agile, DevOps, or Waterfall methodologies to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Review and approve RFPs, proposals, contracts, project charters, scopes of work, and related IT documentation in collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Partner with IT staff to address challenges and promote innovative, collaborative problem-solving across teams.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and internal IT teams to effectively manage vendor relationships and ensure fulfillment of commitments.
  • Analyze financial reports and budget variances to identify improvement opportunities and recommend corrective actions. Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budget constraints and prepare accurate forecasts and reports for management. Collaborate with the IS Business Office to maintain consistent and reliable financial reporting.
  • Facilitate business readiness and adoption through effective management processes. Ensure smooth handover to operations and support teams.

 

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering field or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in related field.
  • Preferred designations/certification/licenses:
  • Business analysis experience – understanding the business domain, drawing out requirements, communicating, managing expectations and documentation.
  • Project Management
  • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in Business Application Development, Delivery or Support; including 5+ years in solution delivery or project management roles
  • Specific knowledge and experience:
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), systems integration, and IT operations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with application systems analysis, architecture, design, and development.
  • Business Relationship Management experience – stakeholder engagement, information gathering, and collaboration skills.

 

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a strong ability to mentor, guide, and collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing multiple diverse projects under tight deadlines with autonomy, while maintaining high-quality, timely deliverables across the team.
  • Skilled in navigating and facilitating difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to solving complex problems.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, facilitation, and coordination skills.
  • Effective time management in high-paced, multi-tasking environments, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Effective collaborator with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships and navigate challenging conversations.
  • Adaptable and responsive in fast-paced, changing environments.

 

Other Requirements and Information

  • Will need to provide support outside of regular business hours and/or on the weekend.
  • Occasional travel to various site locations may be required.
