Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Project Controls Reporting Analyst, Pacific Link. In this position, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and decision-focused project performance, financial, and management reporting to support project leadership, governance, and organizational decision-making. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in reporting, data analysis, performance measurement, dashboard development, financial reporting, and data governance. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure project while helping drive data integrity, reporting excellence, and informed business decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver recurring and ad hoc financial, performance, and management reports, including variance analysis, forecasts, reconciliations, and executive-level reporting.
  • Analyze project performance data, identify trends and emerging issues, and provide insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, data models, and reporting solutions that translate complex project information into actionable insights.
  • Consolidate and reconcile data from multiple projects, contractors, and corporate systems while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.
  • Maintain reporting standards, controls, documentation, and supporting records to ensure compliance with governance, audit, and information management requirements.
  • Support audit and assurance activities by preparing supporting documentation, responding to information requests, and maintaining traceable reporting records.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls, Finance, and business stakeholders to coordinate reporting requirements, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting processes and data governance practices.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency through automation, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
  • 6 to 9 years of progressive experience in reporting, financial analysis, management reporting, data analytics, or related field.
  • Experience supporting large capital projects within the energy, infrastructure, pipeline, industrial, construction, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing financial and performance reports, dashboards, reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting packages.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify trends, and communicate meaningful insights to stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and other reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Experience using enterprise reporting systems, reporting databases, and data management platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of reporting controls, data governance, data quality practices, and internal control principles; knowledge of IFRS or U.S. GAAP is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting audits, assurance reviews, governance reporting, and maintaining accurate supporting documentation is preferred.
  • Proven ability to integrate data from multiple sources, manage competing priorities, and meet recurring reporting deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
