As a Senior Financial Systems Analyst with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of finance professionals.
The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is required to provide technical support to the Finance team for the optimization of the Company's ERP System (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations) including the management of master data and the business processes which rely upon this data.
The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will perform a wide range of duties in support of the Finance team and the ongoing use of the ERP system.
The position reports to the Financial Systems Manager and is based in the Calgary Head Office.
Key Deliverable/Responsibilities
- Manage changes to master data (vendor, customer, general ledger, financial dimensions, procurement categories, project categories, associated ledger posting profiles).
- Troubleshooting issues as they relate to master data or the associated business processes.
- Collaborating with Finance, IT and other internal group team members to meet business requirements through the improvement of business processes and development of Power BI reporting.
- Training and supporting Finance team members in the use of the ERP system and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of training & reference materials.
- Building and designing reporting tools as required.
- Complete testing required for Microsoft imposed and optional system upgrades and provide support and guidance to other testers.
- Compile business requirements for new and changes to existing security roles resulting from feedback from users.
- Perform testing of security role and system configuration changes carried out by Managed Services providers.
- Putting periods on hold and running year end close processes.
- Maintain documentation of business processes and procedures including month end tasks to demonstrate compliance with internal controls.
- Assist in responding to queries from internal and external auditors in relation to master data, business processes and security roles.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting.
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA).
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience.
- Broad experience and knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and SCM modules required.
- Experience building Power BI reports an asset.
- Advanced computer software skills.
- Ability to collaborate with and train other Finance team members.
- Capable of handling tight deadlines and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.
