Trans Mountain operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.

 

As Senior SharePoint/Teams Administrator with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of experts in the Information Technology department. This position is based in our Calgary Head Office.

 

The SharePoint/Teams Administrator will oversee the overall SharePoint Online environment at Trans Mountain working closely with the IT teams and our business partners.  This includes defining and maintaining the SharePoint Governance model.  The role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the SharePoint environment and will work to create sites, manage security, troubleshoot issues, update third-party tools and software, coordinate maintenance, and work with teams in IT to ensure a stable SharePoint service. Other duties include providing support for the integration of SharePoint and SharePoint processes into other systems (such as the Service Now ticketing system) and the analysis and trending of the health and utilization of the environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, document, implement and maintain SharePoint governance, policies, standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and governance on the activation and use of SharePoint / O365-related capabilities (e.g. Teams).
  • Configure SharePoint appropriately to execute retention rules, declaration rules, security permissions, custom web parts, and advanced search module.
  • Participate in the analysis, design, documentation, deployment, and configuration of custom SharePoint solutions; Manage the implementation of SharePoint updates and service packs.
  • Participate in the design, development, maintenance, and end-user support for SharePoint sites, including libraries, lists, metadata, and workflows.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of training related to SharePoint while striving for high levels of system intuitiveness and usability
  • Analyze site usage trends and perform environmental checks, monitor performance, and back-ups; Identify and address areas that would benefit from design and performance improvement.
  • Performs analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex SharePoint problems, recommends, and implements corrective solutions.
  • Manage and address SharePoint Incidents, Requests, and Changes using Service Now and the Trans Mountain Service Desk
  • Integrate SharePoint with a variety of internal and external data sources; Facilitate SharePoint content migration

 

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with SharePoint Administration preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience specifically with Microsoft SharePoint Online
  • Experience using technologies such as SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, .Net framework, SQL, C#, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript is an asset
  • A solid understanding of SharePoint API
  • Strong experience with the development and implementation of SharePoint Governance, best practices, and procedures
  • Solid understanding of the M365 environment & PowerShell
  • Experience with Power Apps / Power Automate
