Pipeline Simulation Analyst

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

With our expanded pipeline system now in place, Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. As a Pipeline Simulation Analyst with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of engineering and information technology professionals.  This position is located in Edmonton and will report to the Manager, Simulations.

The Pipeline Simulation Analyst is primarily responsible for the development, maintenance and testing of Trans Mountain’s Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) systems which include leak detection, batch tracking, and pressure monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• Over 2 years’ experience preferably in the petroleum industry.
• Experience working with ATMOS and SPS CPM Systems is considered an asset.
• Experience developing and maintaining online computer simulations.
• Knowledge of pipeline leak detection, hydraulics, and operations.
• Experience working with real-time software.
• Experience developing and delivering technical training to non-technical personnel.
• Experience with high level programing languages.
