Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values-driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Team Lead, Organizational Change Management. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring that organizational projects and change initiatives meet their objectives on time with high levels of adoption.  This role will focus on the people and technology side of change including shifts in business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organizational structures to ensure successful transitions across the department and/or organization.

 

A key responsibility of this position is integrating, enhancing, and applying both new and existing management tools, methodologies, and processes. Working in partnership with the Director, the Team Lead will also support the intake and assessment of requests for OCM involvement, evaluating the depth, complexity, and urgency of changes to determine appropriate OCM approaches and resourcing.

 

The successful candidate is accountable for developing and executing change management strategies that drive stakeholder alignment, increase benefit realization, enhance readiness, and promote adoption of new strategies, processes, and technologies - ultimately enabling the organization to achieve its goals and optimize business performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a team of contract change practitioners, providing direction and quality assurance to ensure consistent delivery of change management support across initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director to forecast upcoming OCM requirements, evaluate impacts on team capacity, and proactively plan for scaling, reallocation, or extension of contract resources.
  • Monitor workload, capacity, and changing business demands across the OCM team, and provide regular assessments and recommendations to the Director regarding resourcing needs, shifts in priorities, or required adjustments to service levels.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives, culture, and readiness for change, conducting comprehensive impact assessments, change readiness and identify key stakeholders.
  • Review and enhance existing change management processes, tools, and templates, while also designing new resources to build a comprehensive repository that equips the OCM team with the tools to guide leaders through each project or initiative.
  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities.
  • Collaborate with the Director to identify opportunities for cross departmental involvement, ensuring the right partners are engaged early to support and strengthen each change initiative.
  • Serve as a hands-on change practitioner by directly leading select change initiatives, contributing subject matter expertise, and modeling high quality change management practices for the team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement through innovation and best practices during and post-implementation.
  • Track and report on issues and change progress.
  • Manage the change portfolio.

 

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
  • Prosci certification or equivalent change management training required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in pipeline engineering or related field.
  • Experience supporting technology or digital transformation initiatives is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a change agent, leading or supporting both small- and large-scale organizational change initiatives.
  • Agile and adaptable in approach, with the ability to respond effectively to shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Strong active listening skills with the ability to understand diverse perspectives.
  • Excellent influencing skills, with the ability to drive alignment and support across teams.
  • Effective leadership and people management skills, with a strong ability to mentor, guide, and collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative team player who can work effectively with and through others to enable successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality work while supporting key business processes or operational functions in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
  • Comfortable working in environments with a high degree of ambiguity, exercising sound judgment and initiative when information is incomplete or requirements evolve.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness and ability to travel to field locations as required.
